At Contra Studio we design and build custom websites for growing companies in Mexico, Colombia and the United States. If you'd like to tell us about your project, get in touch and we'll happily give you honest guidance.
Each agency shines in a different type of project, so the order is just informational.
We looked at each agency using the same criteria we use when someone asks us for a second opinion before hiring. They're our own criteria, so they reflect what we value:
At Contra Studio, design and development work together from week one, because what we decide in one shapes the other. That's how we create sites that are beautiful, fast and pleasant to use.
We start by organizing the content and choosing the platform (Webflow, WordPress or Sanity, depending on the case). Then we design screen by screen and finish with development, connections to your other tools and a documented handover, so your team can manage the site.
We've worked with brands like Gatorade Latam, League of Legends and Frec, on projects that went beyond a corporate site. In reviews on Clutch, some clients say their conversion rate (the share of visitors who become customers) doubled and their traffic grew by 150% or more.
BluePixel is a technology and UX/UI design company (design focused on how people experience a site), based in Mexico with more than ten years of experience. It works with large and growing companies, from websites to apps and internal platforms. If your project needs data analysis and user testing, it's worth getting to know.
Cloud Studio is based in Mexico City and specializes in web development, online stores and digital platforms for brands in different sectors. It's a good option if you want a corporate site with an integrated store and a local team in Mexico City.
Newemage is a Mexican agency with teams in Mexico City, Ciudad Juárez and El Paso, Texas. For more than twenty years it has built web platforms for universities, organizations such as World Vision, government agencies and industrial companies, and it reports more than 2,000 projects delivered. Its strength is large institutional projects, where stability and long-term support matter most.
Bangluxor is a Bogotá-based agency that works in web design, branding and editorial design, with a presence in six countries and a team of twelve. If your priority is visual identity and you want the same team to create both your brand and your site, it has experience in that combination.
SUBE is a digital marketing agency with a presence in Mexico, Colombia and the United States and a team of more than one hundred people. It's a great fit if your website is one piece of a broader strategy to win customers.
Cocktail Marketing is a Mexican agency that combines interface design, web development and digital marketing strategy, and works with mid-sized companies that want to improve their digital presence. It's a good option if you want to redesign your site and work on content and search positioning at the same time.
Almost every agency talks about custom development, though each one understands it in its own way. For some it means changing the colors and fonts of a template. For others it means building every component from scratch.
The difference matters for three reasons: the speed of your site, your team's independence to publish, and how easily you can grow as your business grows. A site built piece by piece loads only what it needs, and we create sets of reusable, documented components so that adding new pages gets easier over time. If you're choosing between a template and custom development, our article on how to frame that decision better can help.
Many sites improve with small adjustments, and others benefit from a full redesign. Here are three signs it's worth evaluating:
If any of these sound familiar, in Website Redesign for B2B Companies we explain how we think about that decision.
Every agency on this list shines at something different. Projects that fit us especially well are those looking for:
For other needs, such as launching quickly with a template, focusing on a marketing campaign or building a very large institutional platform, other agencies on the list may be your best option. If you'd like to keep comparing, our guide on how to choose a web design and development agency can help. And whenever you want to tell us about your project, get in touch: we'd be glad to help.
It depends on three things: how many distinct page designs the site needs, how much content has to be organized, and which external tools get connected. We quote by defined scope and provide a breakdown by stage, so you can adjust the project before signing.
In our projects, a custom corporate site takes between eight and fourteen weeks: two or three to organize the content, three or four for design, and the rest for development. Every agency has its own timelines, so it's worth asking in the very first conversation.
It depends on who will manage the site and how varied the content is. Webflow works very well for marketing sites where the team publishes often. WordPress is a solid option when there's a lot of editorial content. And a content system separated from the design, like Sanity, makes sense when the same content feeds more than one channel. We recommend the platform after getting to know your content and your team.
Ask for documentation, training and components your team can edit. We include all of that in the project, so you can publish and make changes on your own.
